This page is for information related to Thailand specifically.

The situation now:
Designated blood donations as well as donations of your own blood for yourself are possible in some public Thai hospitals. However, they may not welcome you in every single one of them – this is what we will change.
The situation is very tricky due to two facts:
First, there is no open discussion about Covid-vaccines at all in Thailand, and the Thai mentality prevents this from happening. This is why our actions have to be very different from how we approach the situation in western countries.
Second, private hospitals are the ones we would want to approach in the first place, as nobody would want to go to a public hospital in Thailand. But blood donations are only possible in public hospitals, which means we have to make sure private and public ones work together. Not an easy task, but managable. It simply means we need to be patient, everything takes time in the land of smiles.

What WE do:
Our acting plans:
We have a great local team in Thailand, which will establish the most feasible way to reach our goal, the free choice of blood (and blood donor). This will happen through finding medical partners (hospitals, laboratory chains, private practices etc.), and most importantly, by trying to reduce the need for transfusions in general with clear advises for medical staff in our membersโ€˜ living will.
We will approach clinics in Thailand regarding their policies with patients who want to chose their own blood donor, and will publish the results in our member area (under “Medical partner search“).
Our goal is clearly to establish a medical tourism to Thailand, as the Kingdom has a long tradition with medical tourism and some excellent hospitals. However, we will not focus on “unvaxxinated” blood at all, in fact not even mention it, but simply approach it from the fact that there is a big group of potential clients who would like to choose their blood donor, for private reasons.
We will translate the website to Thai language in the long term, and also have the domain name in thai fonts, in order to tear down the language barrier. However, our first target is the local expat community and members from abroad wanting to do their surgeries in Thailand, as the local population does not really have a problem with the vaccines; the conscious ones simply go to small public hospitals, where they can bring their realtives as blood donors without any problems.
A telegram channel for easy information will complement this page soon.
You can search for a donor in the member area under “Search for blood donor“. Please don’t write me an email “is there a blood donor with AB+ in Bangkok?” – you find the answer yourself under the mentioned link.
However, since we just start to approach clinics, the database will not find any clinics in Thailand for now.

What YOU can do:
If you want to join us and help within the team, please contact us.
Spread the word, and most importantly, become a member โ€“ because only together we are strong.

Please note that there are NO blood donation stations set up yet, nowhere in Thailand, as we need medical partners for this purpose first, and most likely will not have a blood bank at all, but rather rely on the direct mediation donor/receiver. Check back here frequently and subscribe to our newsletter (under “Contact”).

One question we often hear is “How much do you pay for my blood?
We are an NGO and the reward for your blood donation is to know that you will also get uncontaminated blood once you will need it. So no, we don’t pay – we are “members taking care of members”, a community aware of a huge threat to our health – we are not “blood dealers”. We can and will never make a business with your blood. So the label “SafeBlood” will be a brand you can trust. Other private labs will buy your blood – and sell it to the cosmetic and rejuvenation industry. If you don’t mind, sell your blood there. If you want to save lives, stick to us.
